Kuchinda: The body of an unidentified man was spotted while lying under mysterious circumstances and a woman alive in Dansenadihi forest under Kuchinda police limits of Sambalpur district, today.

According to a police source, the man is suspected to have died nearly four to five days ago. The woman was lying near the man in critical condition when both of them were found by some locals. Initially, it was presumed that the middle-aged woman was also dead but later she was ascertained to be alive. Later, she was rescued and admitted to Kuchinda sub-divisional hospital (SDH) for treatment.

On being informed by the locals, Kuchinda police reached the spot and recovered the body and sent it to the hospital for post-mortem. The woman is undergoing treatment and is not out of danger now.

“Body of the man has decomposed and swelled and is producing a foul smell. We are still trying to establish their identities. A case has been registered and a probe initiated,” the senior policeman said.
