Unidentified miscreant kills Plus II girl student by slitting throat in Odisha’s Bolangir

Bolangir: A minor girl was allegedly killed today by an unidentified miscreant by slitting her throat at Nikhil Nagar near Central School under Bolangir Town police limits in this district. She was a Plus II 1st-year student. The reason behind the untimely death has not been ascertained yet, a senior cop said.

The deceased has been identified as 15-year-old Seshadri Nag, who belonged to Nikhil Nagar.

According to the senior official in Town police station, the mother of the minor victim works as a cleaning staffer in Bolangir civic body and was in her workplace. His father had also gone out elsewhere for some work. They had asked their daughter to cook and bring lunch for them to the municipality office at around 12 noon. The girl was killed in the morning when nobody else was present in the house.

As the girl did not bring them the launch for quite a long time, her parents tried to contact her over a mobile phone. However, the phone calls were not picked up by the girl. Suspecting that something has gone wrong, the parents reached their home but to see their daughter dead, the official source added.

“Our daughter was lying dead on the floor in a pool of blood,” the father of the victim expressed.

Later, on being informed by the parents, Town police reached the spot and launched a probe.

“A minor girl was found dead in Nikhil Nagar and her body has been recovered. We are probing based on the circumstantial evidence with the help of a scientific team,” Bolangir SDPO Tofan Bagh said.
