Union Minister Ashwini Choubey names tiger and lion cubs at Odisha zoo
Bhubaneswar: Union Minister for Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Ashwini Kumar Choubey, today named two lion and tiger cubs at Nandankanan Zoological Park (NZP) here.
During his visit to the zoo, he named the cub of lioness Bijli as ‘Kamini’ and tigress Rupa’s cub as ‘Himansi’. Both the cubs were born in March this year.

The union minister reviewed the functioning of the NZP and praised the zoo authorities. He termed the wildlife habitat as ‘heaven’ for animals.
Sources said that Choubey assured the authorities of extending financial support to transform Nandankanan into a world class zoo in the state.
