Union Minister writes to CM requesting permanent RoR to displaced villagers in Odisha’s Angul

Bhubaneswar/New Delhi: Union Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan today wrote to Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik requesting the CM to issue land Pattas (Records of Right) to the residents of Pabitra Nagar new slum in Angul district, who were earlier displaced from Parabila village.

In his letter, Pradhan mentioned that a permanent solution pertaining to the rehabilitation of the displaced villagers has not yet been done since long back. The residents were affected due to a severe flood that occurred in Samakoi river of the district, in 1960. Subsequently, they had settled in the slum.

It is a pity that they have not been given land Pattas even after more than six decades, the Union Minister said.

Similarly, the restoration of a water body connecting two canals in the village has become essential, which was destroyed during land acquisition for the railway station at Parabila, Pradhan urged.
