Unit-3 Exhibition Ground in Odisha capital is the venue of this year’s I-Day celebration

Bhubaneswar: The state-level Independence Day celebration for this year will be held at Unit-3 Exhibition Ground in Odisha capital here.

This was revealed by Information and Public Relations department Principal Secretary Sanjay Kumar Singh, who presided over a preparatory meeting for the Independence Day celebration here today.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will grace the occasion as chief guest and hoist the National Flag, Singh added.

“The Information and Public Relations department will take the necessary steps for live telecast of the celebration,” Singh said.

Notably, the venue of the state-level Independence Day celebration was shifted from Mahatma Gandhi Marg in the capital city here to Unit-3 Exhibition Ground during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The state government had also decided not to hold parade during the Independence Day celebration due to the pandemic.
