Unwed mother’s brother kills lover for abandoning her in Odisha

Angul: In gruesome incident out of deception and vendetta, an unwed mother’s brother killed lover for abandoning her sister here in the district.

The incident reported at Ranipakhal village under Athmallik police limits on Sunday night created sensation in the area.

Police arrested the accused identified as Nagen Dehury (22) on charges of killing Pabitra Dehury (36) following the complaint lodged by the deceased’s father Jagannath Dehury.

According to reports, Pabitra was stabbed to death by Nagen after he refused to accept her sister, who became mother of his child without marriage.

Reports said that Nagen’s sister became pregnant with Pabitra on the pretext of marriage and later he abandoned her alone for which she was staying at her father’s home after delivering a child.

Nagen’s anger crossed the limit when the treacherous lover married another woman and refused to accept Nagen’s sister, who became an unwed mother. As he along with his seven siblings faced social stigma due to the incident, he decided to eliminate cheated lover from life to take revenge.

He stabbed his sister’s lover to death with hatchet mercilessly.
