According to reports, the actor filed the complaint alleging movie producer Rajesh Ranjan Pati of uploading a video on social media featuring the duo, without her consent.

“I would term the video as fake. The video has been made without my permission and the way in which he has uploaded it on social media is absolutely wrong. Action should be taken against him for posting it without my permission,” Upasana Mohanty said.

On the contrary, Rajesh asserted that the video was shot with the actor’s permission and they were in a relationship.

“Video has been shot with her permission. We had taken a selfie together. I have also submitted the video with the IIC. She is openly saying that I had subjected her to casting couch. What permission should I take from her? Did she seek my permission when she was showing our WhatsApp chats to media?” Rajesh Ranjan Pati asked.

The video posted on web indicates towards an intimate relationship between the two in line with Pati's claims. Earlier, Pati had claimed that he had an “emotional relationship” with her.

On the other hand, Rajesh has recorded his statement before police under section 161 of CrPC, days after he alleged that Upasana and others had cheated him of over Rs 30 lakh.

Rajesh Ranjan Pati had accused Upasana of threatening to falsely implicate him in casting couch case every time he asked to return his money given as advance for a movie project.

Following this, Upasana had filed a complaint with Laxmisagar police on Wednesday in this connection. The following day, the police registered the case against Pati who allegedly threatened Upasana with dire consequences if she refused to marry him.

The producer was booked under section 506 (criminal intimidation) and 509 (gesture intending to insult the modesty of a woman) of IPC. He has also moved the High Court seeking anticipatory bail to evade arrest.
