Bhubaneswar: The Union Public Services Commission (UPSC) invited online application from eligible candidates interested to appear in the Engineering Services (Preliminary) Examination 2022.

In a notification, the UPSC stated the applicants should apply early so that they could get a centre of their choice. Allotment of centres will be on the first-apply-first allot basis and once the capacity of a particular centre is attained, the same will be frozen.

Last date for candidates to submit online application is 6 PM on October 12, 2021.

Candidates can apply online for the exam by visiting the commission’s official website – www.upsconline.nic.in

The eligible candidates shall be issued an e-Admission Certificate three weeks before the commencement of the Examination. The e-Admission Certificate will be available in the UPSC website for download. No Admission Certificate will be sent by post, the Commission stated.

Recruitment on the results of this examination will be made to the services/ posts under the following categories:-

Category I- Civil Engineering.

Category II- Mechanical Engineering.

Category III- Electrical Engineering.

Category IV- Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering.

The number of vacancies to be filled on basis of the results of the examination will be approximately 247 including eight vacancies for the Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) (06 vacancies for Locomotor Disability including Leprosy cured, Dwarfism, Acid Attack victims and Muscular Dystrophy and 02 vacancies for Hard of Hearing).

Candidates interested to appear in the exam are required to pay a fee of Rs 200. However, female/SC/ST/PwBD candidates are exempted from payment of the fee.
