Utkal University clerk in Odisha Vigilance net for unaccounted wealth

Bhubaneswar: A senior clerk in Bhubaneswar landed in Vigilance net for allegedly acquiring wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income.

The Vigilance sleuths conducted raid at residences of Ashok Kumar Mishra, presently working as the Senior Assistant in Directorate of Distance & Continuing Education (DDCE), Utkal University, at Vani Vihar campus, Mancheswar and Patia in Bhubaneswar.

The simultaneous raids were also carried out at his DDCE office room in Vani Vihar, his native house at Durgapur village in Cuttack district following a search warrant issued by the Special Judge Vigilance, Bhubaneswar.

In course of search and inventory, Ashok Kumar Mishra, senior assistant was found in possession of assets worth Rs 1.38 crore including one triple-storied building, two double-storied buildings, one single-storied building, 14 shop rooms, four plots, one motorcycle, deposits in different banks, gold and silver ornaments and cash over Rs 3.5 lakhs.
