Odisha: Vehicle documents’ validity extended, DL/LL test suspended

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government today extended the validity of several vehicle-related documents in the state till September 30 as those couldn’t be renewed due to COVID-19 lockdown.

Here are details about the validity extension of different documents:

  • Fitness Certificate– Fitness Certificate of all motor vehicles expired/expiring between 01.02.2020 and 30.06.2020 will be treated as valid till 30.09.2020.
  • Registration Certificate of non-transport vehicles- Registration Certificate of non-transport vehicles expired/expiring between 01.02.2020 and 30.06.2020 will be treated as valid till 30.09.2020.
  • Driving License– Driving Licenses expired/expiring between 01.02.2020 and 30.06.2020 will be treated as valid till 30.09.2020.
  • Learner’s License– Learner’s Licenses expired/expiring between 18.03.2020 and 30.06.2020 will be treated as valid till 30.09.2020 as the Driving License tests were cancelled w.e.f. 18.03.2020.
  • Goods Carriage, Contract Carriage, Private Service Vehicle, and Educational Institution Bus Permits expired/expiring between 01.02.2020 and 30.06.2020 will be treated as valid till 30.09.2020.
  • Stage Carriage Permanent Permits- All Stage Carriage Permanent Permits and permits issued by Reciprocating States Countersigned by STA, Odisha on interstate routes expired/expiring between 01.02.2020 and 30.06.2020 will be valid till 30.09.2020.

On the other hand, the DL/LL tests have been suspended while the date regarding the commencement of DL/LL slot booking and DL/LL tests will be notified later by the state government. The fees already paid by applicants for DL/LL tests will remain valid, an official order said.

Applicants have been requested not to visit RTO offices for inquiry regarding LL and DL.
