Cuttack: Actor-turned-politician Anubhav Mohanty today faced a setback in the ongoing marital discord case between him and Varsha Priyadarshini when the Cuttack District and Sessions Judge Court today put an interim stay on the order of the Court of SDJM, Cuttack.

Based on a petition filed by Varsha, the District and Sessions Judge Court asked Anubhav to submit his reply during next hearing on July 4. Neither Anubhav nor his counsel was present during the hearing today.

It is worth to mention that the SDJM Court directed Varsha to vacate Anubhav’s parental house in Cuttack city.

The court also asked Varsha to leave Anubhav’s house within two months after receiving Rs 30,000 as compensation from the actor. It directed Anubhav to pay the compensation amount to Varsha within 10th of every month.

Within two days of the SDJM Court order, Anubhav paid Rs 30,000 to Varsha.

Varsha filed a complaint case against him at the Court of SDJM, Cuttack in the first week of this month. The case was registered under Sections 506, 509, 501 of the IPC and Section 67 of the IT Act.

She alleged that several social media posts by Anubhav have tarnished her image. The posts are derogatory and disrespectful in nature, she added.

Another case of divorce between Anubhav and Varsha is pending before the Orissa High Court. In its order, the HC asked Anubhav to refrain from making any video/ comment against Varsha. It also passed a directive to Varsha to stay away from making any comment on the issue before any media, including social media.
