Varun Dhawan to play this martyred Indian Army officer in his next movie

Bhubaneswar: After giving several hits with his versatile acting skills, Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan is now gearing up to play a martyred Indian Army Officer in his next project.

 As per sources Varun and Sriram Raghavan are collaborating for the second time for a biopic based on the heroism of a 21-year-old Second Lieutenant Arun Khetrapal.

Born in Pune,  Arun Khetrapal fought valiantly in the Battle of Basantar, the Indo-Pakistan War of 1971 and attained martyrdom. He was a recipient of Param Vir Chakra, India’s highest military award.

On the 69th birth anniversary of the 1971 war hero, Varun today posted a picture of Khetrapal on his official Instagram handle and confirmed that he is playing the former’s character in the biopic under Sriram Raghavan directorial.

The ‘Kalank’ actor wrote, “It’s always been my dream to play a solider of INDIA. This is my most important film. Can’t wait to be directed by the mad genius Sriram Raghavan one more time to bring to big screen the life of 2/lt #ARUNKHETARPAL. Can’t wait to begin working with dino vision my producer who always has a vision but this time with emotion. Hope to make you proud #mukeshkhetarpal and #poonahorse. JAI HIND.”

 

The actor, in a statement also said that a story of this sort needs to be told and it’s a responsibility for him and the team to narrate it correctly.
