Vedanta to get bauxite from Kondingamali: Odisha Mines Min

It’s good news for Vedanta’s jinxed alumina refinery at Lanjigarh as Odisha government has decided to make available bauxite to it from the Kodingamali mines in Koraput through the Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC).

“We will make available bauxite to the Lanjigarh refinery of Vedanta’s from the Kodingamali mines located in Koraput. OMC has got the mining lease for the Kodingamali mines. We will supply bauxite to Vedanta through OMC once production starts from the mines,” informed Steel & Mines Minister Prafulla Mallick here today.

Mallick further informed that mines auction process will be expedited in the state  adding that five mines which include four limestone mines and one manganese mines will be put up for auction by the end of this month or by September first week.
