Vegetable vendors to be relocated in Cuttack to decongest crowd

Cuttack: As part of taking preventive measures against spread of COVID-19, the authorities  are planning to shift some of the vegetable vendors in Cuttack to different locations within the Silver City to check mass gathering.

As per the decision, four major vegetable markets will be relocated during a joint drive by Cuttack district administration, Commissionerate Police and Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) tomorrow on April 20.

Here is an updated list of the relocated greens-joints in Cuttack:

1. Vegetable vendors stationed on Nayasarak road in Balu Bazar vegetable market, will be shifted to Ring Road in front of Sishu Bhawan. However, the vegetable vendors sitting inside Balu Bazar will be allowed to continue vending as before by maintaining a minimum distance of 12 feet.

2. Greens vendors sitting on Ring Road near Krishak Bazar will be relocated to the four- lane road connecting Ashwini Hospital at Sector 10. They will be allotted the northen side flank of the road.

3. Vendors on the Nayabazar Road will be shifted to the field near TOP.

4. Vendors lined on the Link road and between Dolomundai and Khan Nagar will be shifted to two open fields near Khan Nagar Park. No vegetable retail shops will be allowed inside Chatrabazar.

Meanwhile,  other green vendors stationed at different roadsides within the city will be shifted to nearby open fields or roads with minimum traffic.
