Bhubaneswar: As the Southwest monsoon is active over Odisha and scattered heavy to very heavy with isolated extremely heavy rainfall very likely to occur in some districts of the State, India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre in Bhubaneswar issued today Orange Warning for next two days.

Low-Pressure Area formed over the Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining north Odisha-West Bengal coasts with associated cyclonic circulation extending up to 7.6 km above mean sea level persists. It is very likely to move west-northwestwards across north Odisha and Jharkhand during the next two days, a mid-day bulletin of the IMD mentioned.

Orange Warning (Be Prepared)- Scattered Heavy to Very Heavy with isolated extremely heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sonepur, Boudh, Bolangir, Sambalpur, Bargarh. Isolated heavy to Very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Deogarh, Angul, Keonjhar,Nuapada, Kalahandi and Kandhamal.

Yellow Warning (Be Updated)- Heavy Rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Nayagarh, Khurda, Cuttack, Nabarangpur and Dhenkanal.

For Monday (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 26.06.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 27.06.2023)

Orange Warning (Be Prepared)- Scattered Heavy to Very Heavy Rainfall is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Bargarh, Bolangir, Kalahandi and Nuapada. Isolated Heavy to Very Heavy rainfall is very likely at one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Boudh and Nabarangpur.

Yellow Warning (Be Updated)- Heavy Rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput and Kandhamal.

Notably, under the influence of the anticipated low-pressure system, squally weather with gusty surface wind speed reaching 45 to 55 kmph is very likely over North Bay of Bengal adjoining West Central Bay of Bengal, along and off Odisha coast from 25th June to 27th June, 2023 (morning).
