Bhubaneswar: Due to the prevalent Monsoon Trough, heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places in at least four districts of Odisha. India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre today issued Orange Warning in some districts for the next five days.
In its mid-day bulletin, the IMD regional centre mentioned, “Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of South Odisha and at many places over the districts of North Odisha. Southwest monsoon remains active over Odisha during this period.”
A cyclonic circulation lies over the northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Coastal Odisha and extends up to 7.6 km above mean sea level tilting southwards with height. Under its influence, a low-pressure area is likely to form the northwest Bay of Bengal during next 48 hours.
The highest maximum (day) temperature of 34.4oC was recorded at Chandbali and the lowest minimum (night) temperature of 21.0oC was recorded at Nabarangpur in the plains of Odisha.
