Bhubaneswar: Due to the prevalent Monsoon Trough, heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places in eight districts of Odisha during the next 24 hours. India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre today issued Orange Warning in some districts for the next four days.
In its mid-day bulletin, the IMD regional centre mentioned, “Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts Odisha.”
The low-pressure area over northwest Bay of Bengal off Odisha coast now lies over Northwest Bay of Bengal and the adjoining Odisha coast. The associated cyclonic circulation extends up to 7.6 km above mean sea level tilting southwards with height. The Monsoon Trough at mean sea level now passes through Jaisalmer, Kota, Guna, Damoh, Raipur, center of the low-pressure area of northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Odisha and thence southeastwards to Eastcentral Bay of Bengal and extends up to 2.1 km above mean sea level. The cyclonic circulation over south Chhattisgarh extending up to 1.5 km above mean sea level has merged with the monsoon trough.
The highest maximum (day) temperature of 34.0oC was recorded at Chandbali and the lowest minimum (night) temperature of 22.0oC was recorded at Nuapada in the plains of Odisha.

Yellow Warning (Be Updated)- Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Puri, Khurda, Gajapati, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Rayagada, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Angul, Sambalpur and Bargarh.
