Very heavy rainfall warning issued for several Odisha districts for 3 days

Bhubaneswar: The Regional Meteorological Centre here has issued very heavy rainfall warning (Orange Warning) for several districts of Odisha for September 19, 20 and 21 in connection with the cyclonic circulation over Bay of Bengal.

Under the influence of the cyclonic circulation, a low pressure area is likely to form over northwest and adjoining westcentral Bay of Bengal off Odisha-West Bengal coasts around September 20.

Below is day-wise forecast for Odisha in this regard:

September 19: Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Ganjam and Puri (Orange Warning).

Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Gajapati, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Khurda, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Nayagarh and Kendrapara (Yellow Warning).

September 20: Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bolangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Boudh, Sonepur and Nayagarh (Orange Warning).

Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Ganjam, Khurda, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Angul, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sundargarh and Nuapada (Yellow Warning).

September 21: Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bargarh, Bolangir and Nuapada (Orange Warning).

Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Boudh, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda and Sundargarh (Yellow Warning).
