Bhubaneswar: Veteran Odia music  composer Amarendra Mohanty, who was infected with COVID-19, succumbed to the virus today.

Mohanty, a resident of Cuttack city, was admitted to SUM COVID Hospital after testing positive for the virus. However, he breathed his last at around 8 AM today.

Mohanty, who lent his voice for several Odia Bhajans, has worked as music composer in many superhit movies like Stree, Rama Laxman, Vasudha, Bhai Hela Bhagari, Suna Panjuri, Kandhei Akhire Luha and many more. He sought to fame after he composed the music for 'Puchuki Gali Fashion Bali' sung by Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam in the movie Suna Panjuri.

Condolences started pouring in for the departed soul from different quarters, including the Ollywood fraternity soon after reports of his demise surfaced.
