Veteran Odisha actor Debu Bose passes away

Bhubaneswar: Veteran Ollywood actor Debu Bose passed away last night at a private hospital in Hyderabad. He was 76.

Bose was undergoing treatment at the hospital since May, this year and put on life support system as his condition was critical. Earlier, he had suffered heart attacks twice.

Born on December 2, 1942, Bose has acted in over 150 Odia movies. The popular actor has also acted and produced several Odia television series.

He started his acting career in 1980s with the movie ‘Tapasya’. He later went on to win hearts of many cine lovers in Odisha with his influential acting in ‘Pua Mora Kala Thakura’, ‘Samaya Kheluchi Chaka Bhaunri’, ‘Ki Heba Sua Posile’, ‘Phula Chandana’, ‘Suna Chadhei’, ‘Kaberi’, ‘Sahari Bagha’ etc.

A pall of gloom descended on the Odia film industry after the demise of Bose, who was popular for portraying father characters in movies.
