Veteran Ollywood Actor Shanti Swarup Mishra passes away

Sambalpur: Veteran Odia movie Actor Shanti Swarup Mishra, popularly known as Tiku Mishra passed away today evening while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Odisha’s Sambalpur town. He was 72.

Earlier in the day, Mishra fell down on the bathroom floor at his residence near Sambalpur gate. His family members immediately admitted him to a nursing home where doctors declared him dead.

He has been highly acclaimed for his lead role in three Odia movies, ‘Mana Akash’, ‘Krushna Sudama’ and ‘Bandhu Mohanty’ released during 1970s. The movies were directed by Nitaei Palit.

His mortal remains will be cremated at the Raj Ghat in Sambalpur tomorrow morning. He is survived by wife, son, two daughters, daughter-in-law, son-in-law and grand children.

As the news of Mishra’s demise broke, art lovers in Sambalpur mourned the death.
