Vice President reaches Odisha capital to attend AIIMS convocation

Bhubaneswar: Vice President Venkaiah Naidu reached Odisha capital this morning during his one-day visit to attend the first convocation of AIIMS Bhubaneswar here.

Naidu arrived at Biju Patnaik International Airport at 8.20 am. He was received by Odisha Governor Ganeshi Lal, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan, Jual Oram and Chief Secretary AP Padhi at the airport.

He moved towards Raj Bhawan from where he will leave for the AIIMS Bhubaneswar to attend the function scheduled at around 10.00 am.

He will address the students at the premier medical institution during its first convocation ceremony. Total 106 medical students including 50 MBBS students will be awarded the degree certificates by the Vice President. Out of 106, 24 students will receive gold medals as the toppers in various subjects.

The Vice President is scheduled to return to New Delhi at 11.50 am.
