Video goes viral after college girl raped by spurned lover in Odisha

Baripada: Another shameful incident was reported from Odisha Mayurbhanj district where a spurned lover posted obscene photos and video on social media after allegedly raping a college girl.

The alleged rape incident came to fore four months after the video went viral on the internet.

The accused was identified as Lemba (23), son of Singu Hembram and resident of Jamda village under Gorumahisani police limits.

According to reports, Lemba had one-side love with a college girl and had proposed her for several times. However, she had rejected his love and informed about it to her parents following which they warned the youth to stay away from her.

In order to take revenge, the spurned lover targeted the girl. While she was returning to home from college on April 15, he attacked her on the road and took her to a nearby forest where he raped her.

He threatened her to post the rape photos and video if she discloses about the incident to anyone.

The frightened victim also remained silent and did not reveal her trauma before anyone.

However, the spurned lover’s revenge did not stop here. Four months after the incident, he posted the rape photos and video of the girl on social media on August 5. After the video went viral, the father of the victim lodged a complaint at the Gorumahisani Police Station.

Following the complaint, the police have sent the victim to hospital for medical test.
