Video goes viral: Odisha girl stripped in front of friend

Balasore: One more video of a girl being thrashed and stripped has gone viral in Odisha.

As per reports, a young girl along with her male friend had visited Talasari beach under Bhograi block in Balasore district.

A group of youth waylaid the duo and started misbehaving with them. The miscreants, who were reportedly in an inebriated state, beat up the boy and then stripped the girl in front of him.

Shockingly, some of the group members shot the incident on mobile camera and then circulated it on various social media platforms. While the girl was pleading to let her go, the accused demanded money to oblige her.

After the incident came to the fore, a local organisation (Mahamaya Self Help Group) filed a case with Talasari Marine Police Station demanding immediate action against the wrongdoers.

Village meeting was convened and resolved to approach the administration to take action against the culprits. If administration fails to do so, we will take up the matter into our hands, said President of the SHG, Mamata Rani Das.

The incident has raised questions over safety of tourists who visit the place famous for red crabs. The beach town witnesses significant footfall round the clock.
