[Watch] Videos of Odia actresses, Odisha Minister’s kin in prohibited zone go viral

Sambalpur:  Despite prohibition,  two Odia actresses and the daughter of Health Minister Naba Kishore Das were seen hanging out and taking videos at Hirakud dam here. The incident came to fore after one of the actresses uploaded a video on her Instagram profile yesterday that went viral on social media.

Soon after the video drew flak from several quarters questioning the security system at the reservoir, Sambalpur SP Kanwar Vishal Singh sought a report from Hirakud SDPO in this connection. The Hirakud SDPO has been asked to submit a clarification on the matter by 5 PM today.

Sources said two actresses-Prakruti Mishra and Elina Samantray, Minister Naba Das’ daughter Deepali Das and fashion blogger Lovina Nayak  were travelling to Burla from Hirakud on Saturday. Midway, they halted at the Hirakud dam for a refreshment and took pictures and videos. Later, Prakruti uploaded one  of the videos on her Instagram profile that went viral.

After the video went viral raising questions as to how they were allowed to enter into the prohibited zone of dam, the actress removed the it from Instagram. However, none of the actresses could be contacted to comment on the matter.

Later in the day, Elina sought an apology and said, ‘I have not shot any photo or video. I don’t know who has posted the video. Before going to the prohibited zone in the dam I had taken permission from the local security officer. It is true that I should have been more cautious.’

Subsequently another actress Prakruti Mishra apologised and said such mistakes won’t repeat.
