Bhubaneswar: Odisha Hydro Power Corporation (OHPC), a gold rated state PSU, is observing the Vigilance Awareness Week-2023 at its corporate office, training centre and units situated at different locations of the state from 30th October to 5th November. All the employees took the integrity pledge at 11 AM on 30th October. Banners and posters regarding vigilance awareness were displayed at strategic locations in the office premises to raise awareness among all.

On this occasion, an awareness programme was organised at the OHPC Training Centre on Friday. Justice (Retd.) Biswanath Rath, former Judge of High Court of Orissa was the chief guest for the occasion. Ashish Kumar Mohanty, Director (Operation), Subash Chandra Jena, Director (HR), Pranab Kumar Mohanty, CS & CVO and officials of OHPC were also present on the occasion. Director (HR) delivered the inaugural address and threw light on the importance of a corruption-free environment in an organization. He also pointed out that OHPC believes in the philosophy of zero tolerance to corruption and has managed to maintain zero vigilance cases so far. It’s a unique achievement for OHPC and an example for State PSUs. Director (Operation) in his address stated that by observing Vigilance Awareness Week every year, awareness has been developed and a day may come, the society in large will become corruption free. CVO in his speech viewed that, if every individual adheres to honesty and abide by the moral principles, there will be no corruption in any organization, which thereby will help in nation building. The chief guest Rath, while speaking during the programme, emphasized on the importance of a corruption-free environment at both individual and society level. He gave some real-life experiences about the cost of corruption in the society and shared his experience while working with OHPC in legal matters.

To mark the occasion a debate competition was organised for the employees at corporate office on Thursday. The winners were: Dharmendra Nath Patra, (GM (Elec) (1st prize), Niranjan Jena, (DGM Finance) (2nd prize) and Subhasish Dash, DM (Ele.) (2nd prize) and Rakesh Kumar Dash, Management Trainee (PR) (3rd prize). They were presented with memento and gifts by the guest. The 1st prize winner delivered an excerpt from his debate presentation. The Vote of Thanks was presented by Smruti Sudha Panda, Manager (PR).
