Vigilance raid: Boudh RTO found in possession of assets worth crores of rupees

Bhubaneswar: Boudh RTO Basanta Kumar Mohapatra was today found in possession of properties worth crores of rupees after Odisha Vigilance officials raided multiple places in connection with allegation against him regarding disproportionate assets.

As per reports, simultaneous house searches were conducted by the anti-corruption agency on the strength of search warrants issued by Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar.

The following assets in the name of Mohapatra and his family members have so far been unearthed by the agency.

1) Flat at Utkal Signature, Pahala, Bhubaneswar worth Rs one crore.

2) Shopping outlets at Utkal Kanika Galleria Mall, Gautam Nagar, Bhubaneswar worth about Rs 2 crore.

3) 3-BHK flat at Utkal Royal Residency, Kalpana Square, Bhubaneswar worth around Rs one crore.

4) Rs 1.35 crore paid in advance to a realtor for purchase of 5-BHK flat at Iconic Tower, Kalarahanga, Bhubaneswar.

5) Rs 88 lakh paid in advance by Mohapatra to purchase a flat in Bengaluru.

6) Cash Rs 1,16,700.

7) FD worth crores of rupees suspected in various bank accounts. Bank, postal, insurance and other deposits were being ascertained.

Further probe by Vigilance was underway.
