Vijay Hazare Trophy: Odisha beat Vidarbha by 6 wickets to register third successive win

Thane/Bhubaneswar: Odisha on Saturday beat Vidarbha by six wickets to register their third successive win in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy.

Playing at the Dadoji Konddev Stadium in Thane, Odisha won the toss and elected to field first. Their decision paid off as Vidarbha were bundled out for just 148 inside 42.4 overs. Spinner Abhishek Raut was the pick of the bowlers after taking five wickets and giving away 36 runs in eight overs. Debabrata Pradhan took three while veteran Jayant Behera and Ashish Rai took one wicket apiece.

Batting second, captain Subhranshu Senapati played an unbeaten 71 while Anurag Sarangi scored 52 to register an impressive win for the Wasim Jaffer-led side.

Odisha’s latest win ensured their hundred per cent winning start to the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Earlier in the tournament, Odisha had beaten their other Elite Group A opponents Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat. They will next face Jammu and Kashmir on 12th December.
