Vijay Merchant Trophy: Odisha in sight of victory against Kerala

Fine bowling by skipper Subham Nayak and HP Rathor left Kerala struggling in their second innings against Odisha on the third day of the Vijay Merchant U-16 tournament here on Friday.

Odisha, who began the day at their overnight score of 233 for 6, were all out for 323 taking their first innings lead to 137. Satyajit Sabat was the top scorer with a fine 111.

For Kerala, F Fanoos, Sijomon Joseph and Mohammad Safwan took three wickets each.

In their second innings, Kerala were in trouble as skipper Subham Nayak and HP Rathor ran through the top order claiming three wickets each.

Barring G Prem Sagar, who resisted the Odisha bowlers with 50 not out, the other batsmen could not stay for long at the crease.

With the score at 120 for 7 at close of play, Odisha is all set to pull up an emphatic victory on the last day tomorrow.
