Villagers detain six poll officials in Odisha

Six poll officials have been allegedly detained by locals in Odisha’s Nabarangpur district for alleged unfair practice in the first-phase panchayat election in the state.

According to reports, locals alleging adoption of unfair practice in the polling of votes in the panchayat election have detained six poll officials by locking them inside a room in Sambalpur village under Raighar block.

The detained poll officials have appealed to the district administration for their release from the hands of the villagers, reports added.
