Villagers kill man by slitting throat in Odisha’s Malkangiri

Malkangiri: In a grisly act, some villagers of Nandaguda village in Malkangiri district allegedly killed a man by slitting his throat late last night. They then burnt the deceased’s head and buried the rest parts of the body on the banks of Shaberi river. The deceased was identified as Karam Kana from the village.

As per a complaint lodged by Karam Kana’s wife this morning, some villagers called Karam out his house late last night. They slitted his throat with a sickle in front of the house. The murderers then took the bloodied body to Shaberi river bank some two kms away from the village, the complainant added.

To destroy evidence, the villagers burnt the man’s head and buried the rest parts of the body in the river bank, she alleged.

After receiving information, police reached the river bank and exhumed the body in presence of an Executive Magistrate and a scientific team. Also, some villagers have been detained by police for questioning.
