Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Council of Medical Registration (OCMR) today served a notice to former director of Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) Dr Aswini Kumar Pujahari, in connection to a viral video showing him unethically experimenting use of edible salt for treating cancer.
Through the notice, the OMCR asked Dr Aswini to appear before its ethics committee on September 6 in connection with the incident.
Worth mentioning, the doctor had stepped down from his post on February 9 after being accused of undertaking unverified medical practices.
On December 7, Dr Aswini was served with a show cause notice by Commissioner-cum-Secretary of Health Department following the allegations levelled against him by the Junior Doctors' Association (JDA). He was later sent on leave the very next day by the State Government.
