Vir Das lands in trouble over his ‘Two Indias’ monologue

Bhubaneswar/Delhi:  A day after dealing with social media wrath over a monologue named ‘Two Indias’, actor and comedian Vir Das has landed in legal trouble.

Vir Das recently delivered a monologue named ‘Two Indias’ at the United States’ John F Kenedy Centre of Performing Arts. The video of his performance was shared on YouTube on November 15 and that stirred quite some social media outrage.

While many people applauded the comedian’s content, many others slammed him for being offensive towards the country.

According to media reports, a complaint has been registered against Vir Das at the Tilak  Marg Police Station in connection with the aforementioned viral video in which he is allegedly using derogatory language against India.

It is worth mentioning here, Vir Das on Tuesday took to Twitter and posted an open letter to address the mounting social media slams by explaining the motive behind his content.  In the note, the actor-turned-comedian wrote, “ I take pride in my country, and I carry that pride across the world…”
