Viral video: Eloped love birds pray for help on social media in Odisha

Balasore: A young couple shared a video on social media appealing to the users for help for life after they were threatened by the family members following elopement.

The video uploaded by the love birds went viral on Facebook these days. They urged people on social media to save their life. The eloped couple said that they will take extreme step if they did not receive assistance from anyone.

The incident was reported from Nilagiri area in Balasore district.

According to reports, the girl, who is a minor, eloped with her beau without going tuition for study after the family members opposed their relationship. The family members of the minor girl allegedly hired goons to kill the couple.

“We love each other. As my family opposed our love, I left home. Without resolving the matter, my family members have hired goons to kill my beau. As I am a minor, we can’t go to home,” said the minor girl.

Praying for help on social media, she said, “If you can’t help us, we will commit suicide.”

“We two are appealing those who are here on social media, to do something to help us, or else we will commit suicide,” said the girl.

“We love each other so much and it is not crime. As her family members wanted to kill her, we decided to elope. Now her family members are in search of us to eliminate me. As my number is being tracked, I am not able to call my family for help,” the youth said on Facebook.

“Only I have social media through which I uploaded the video seeking help. If anyone is watching the video, kindly do something for us,” he appealed.

Notably, the minor girl had eloped with her boyfriend on February 12. Her parents lodged a missing complaint at Nilagiri police station alleging abduction of their daughter by her beau.
