“The voice against the corporate friendly politics of the Government should be sharpened to protect the interest of people,” eminet journalist and the former Editor of The Hindu Sisharth Varadrajan said at a book release function in the Odisha capital this evening.

Releasing an Odia book ‘Bichar O Pratikriar Dastabij’ written by social activist Prafulla Samantara, Varadarajan said development cannot be achieved by infringing on the basic rights of common men.
"The Congress failed miserably because the party gave much more importance to corporate houses that displaces common men to set up industries," he said.
He said that corporate houses wanted Narendra Modi to form the Government and their wish had been is fulfilled. Now Modi is also giving importance to corporate houses for development of the country, he added.
Reviewing the book, Prof Golakbihari Nath and Sailen Routray said the book has raised so many issues in a nutshell. The author of the book stressed upon the protection and conservation of natural resources of the State and protested its loot by corporate bodies, they added.
The book of 299 pages published by Lohiya Academy has 46 essays. The book has highlighted the issues of displacement, global warming, protection of agriculture and farmers, various peoples’ movement and other issues.
