BJD president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today suspended Vyasanagar Municipality chairperson Sabita Rout from the party for anti-party activities.

BJD's General Secretary Debiprasad Mishra informed about the suspension through a press release today.

Worth mentioning, Rout was in news earlier this year when eight Congress councillors and an independent councillor had brought a no-trust motion against the Municipality Chairperson.

However, the no-confidence motion against Rout was rejected as BJD councillors abstained from voting on the motion as a result of which she had retained the post.
