Odisha: Wall collapse during NH expansion injuries 7

Dhenkanal: As many as seven persons sustained injuries after a portion of wall of a house collapsed during National Highway (NH) expansion work near Badasuanla village under Kamakhyanagar police limits in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district, today.

The mishap took place when a bulldozer was engaged in razing houses for widening of the NH. Five children and two women, who were present inside the house, were injured as the wall collapsed and fell on them.

They were rescued and admitted to the District Headquarters Hospital for treatment. Tension ran high at the spot after the incident as irate locals set the bulldozer on fire.

They also blocked the road and vandalised a police vehicle. Senior police and district administration officials reached the place and tried to pacify them.
