Warning! Heavy to very heavy rain to lash Odisha for next 5 days    

Bhubaneswar:  Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to lash several districts across the state during next five days under the influence of a low pressure likely to form over north Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood around June 30.

As per the regional Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre, the low pressure area likely to form over north Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood around June 30 is likely to become more marked and concentrate into a depression during the subsequent 48 hours.

Under its influence, heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely  to lash several districts till July 3.

Till 8.30 AM on June 29, the weathermen said heavy rain is very likely to lash at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Keonjhar, Jajpur, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Koraput and Malkangiri. Besides, moderate thunderstorm accompanied with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kandhamal, Gajapati, Ganjam, Khordha, Puri, Sundergarh, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Jharsuguda and Sambalpur.

From 8.30 AM, June 29 till 8.30 AM June 30, heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Dhenkanal and Gajapati.

From 8.30 AM, June 30 till 8.30 AM July 1, heavy to very heavy rain is very likely to occur at one or two places over districts of Bhadrak, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Kendrapada and heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over districts of Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Khordha, Puri, Ganjam, Kandhamal and Nayagarh.

From 8.30 AM, July 1 till 8.30 AM July 2, extremely heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over districts of Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Angul, Boudh, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Kalahandi and Puri.  Heavy to very heavy rain is likely to occur at one or two places over districts of Bhadrak, Jajpur, Sundergarh, Deogarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Bolangir, Kandhamal, Gajapati, Khordha, Nayagarh and Ganjam.

From 8.30 AM, July 2 till 8.30 AM July 3, heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places in districts like Bargarh, Nuapada, Bolangir, Sonepur, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Koraput and Sundergarh.

Fishermen have been advised not to venture along and off Odisha coast and north Bay of Bengal between June 30 and July 2 and if anyone in deep sea have been instructed to return to coast by June 29 night.
