(Watch) Bear strays into Odisha temple, rings bell; video goes viral

Bhubaneswar: A bear has become the talk of the town in Odisha’s Koraput for a special reason.

The wild animal exhibited certain behaviour, which is very peculiar to human beings.

The incident took place at a Shiva temple in Borigumma area of Koraput district last night.

According to locals, two bears from nearby forests strayed into the premises of the Shiva temple while searching for food yesterday night. They roamed freely inside the temple as there was one on its precincts.

One of them rang the bell hanging in front of the main temple. Hearing the bell ringing, some local youths rushed to the temple and witnessed the rare incident.

A few of them recorded the incident in their mobile phones. A video of the incident later went viral in the locality.

The locals, meanwhile, claimed that bears from nearby forests often stray into their village at night. So, they have been maintaining high alertness to avoid any untoward incident.
