Watch: Cong leaders offer chocolate to commuters during Odisha bandh

Cuttack: In an unusual scene, Congress leaders and workers today offered chocolate candies to commuters at Link Road Square in Cuttack city and sought their cooperation towards the Odisha bandh observed by the party against rising fuel prices.

“We are getting more support from the public than we had expected. The bandh is being observed peacefully in Cuttack district. Our workers have been asked not to burn tyres or ransack vehicles while observing the bandh,” a Congress leader said.

The Congress is today observing a six-hour Odisha bandh from 7 am to 1 pm protesting the rising fuel prices.

Emergency services including ambulance, vehicles carrying milk, media and examinees have been exempted from the purview of the bandh.

The Bus Owners’ Association has decided to suspend bus services across the state from 6 AM to 1 PM. All educational institutions including schools have been closed in view of the bandh.

Mo Bus service will remain suspended in the first half. The bus service will resume at 2 PM with thin frequency.
