Bhubaneswar: The Dog Rescue Team of the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) today rescued a dog whose head was stuck inside a plastic jar for the last two days.
The rescue operation took place in front of CET College Hostel near Naka Gate here as the team pulled out the plastic jar, thereby freeing the animal who was undergoing pain during the last couple of days.
“Such situations arise when waste items like plastic jars are thrown outside. Citizens are requested not to throw waste outside and hand it over to BMC Safeigadi regularly so that stray animals do not face such hardships in the future,” the civic body said.
“If you notice such a pitiable condition of any stray animal, you can call and alert the team on toll-free phone number 1800 345 0061 for immediate action,” it added.
