[Watch] Elephant menace forces Odisha villagers to move to tree houses

Sambalpur: Being scared of elephant attack, some villagers of Rugudipada in Jujumura area of Odisha’s Sambalpur district have started staying on tree houses.

On March 12, a herd of elephants had wreaked havoc in the locality by destroying a person’s house and damaging articles which were arranged for a wedding ceremony.

In a bid to avoid trouble and ensure safety in view of the presence of the jumbos in the area, several villagers have created tree houses for themselves. They were seen sleeping on the tree houses during night.

The locals alleged that Forest officials were yet to reach the village and take stock of the situation.
