[Watch] Floodwater inundates Maa Bhattarika Temple in Odisha

Cuttack: Following heavy rainfall in the upper catchment areas of the Mahanadi River and the opening of more than 20 gates of the Hirakud dam, the floodwater inundated Maa Bhattarika Temple in Cuttack district.

The floodwater entered the temple this morning. However, the idol of Maa Bhattarika was relocated at midnight to a safe place atop Ratnagiri hill adjacent to the temple. The endowment department has made elaborate arrangements for the conduct of rituals of the deity without any interruption.

For the safety of the temple, all doors have been kept open to release floodwater.
