(Watch) Govt releases first visuals of India’s new Parliament building

Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to inaugurate the new building of Indian Parliament in New Delhi on May 28.

The video of the new Parliament building, spread over 65,000 square metres, was shared by the government today.

The video gives a glimpse into the magnificent structure.

“The new Parliament building will make every Indian proud. The video offers a glimpse of this iconic building. I have a special request—share this video with your own voiceover, which conveys your thoughts. I will re-Tweet some of them. Don’t forget to use #MyParliamentMyPride,” said the Prime Minister in a twitter post today.

It is worth mentioning here that the Tata Group had won the tender to build the new Parliament building. The initial expenditure on the project was estimated at Rs 862 crore, sources said.

However, the estimated cost of the project went up to Rs 971 crore as per a reply by the government in Lok Sabha in 2021.

However, some media reports claimed that the Centre has spent Rs 1,250 crore for construction of the new Parliament building.
