Pipili: Veteran Bollywood actor-turned-politician Mithun Chakraborty performed Akhi Muthi Anukula on Akshaya Tritiya at a village in Odisha today.

Joining a grand procession from Uttara Chhak on outskirts of Bhubaneswar, the BJP leader along with BJP’s national spokesperson Sambit Patra, BJP’s Puri district president Ashrit Patnaik participated in the ceremonial act of sowing seeds in a paddy field at Laxminarayanpur village under Pipili Block in Puri district on the special occasion that marks commencement of agricultural work in Odisha.

In 2021, Mithun had joined the BJP days ahead of the West Bengal Assembly polls. He was party’s start campaigner during the polls, but reportedly made no impact in TMC-ruled state.
