Puri: In a unique way to celebrate Christmas this year, a fisherman in Santa Claus attire came forward to spread awareness to save sea turtles driving a jetski on the sea here today.
Amidst the crowd on Christmas in the pilgrim city, the fisherman P Harry dressed in Santa Claus style was spotted driving a jetski on the sea with a message 'SAVE TURTLE! SAVE OCEAN'.
Harry preferred to wish the tourists in Santa Claus attire on Christmas with the noble message to save the turtles, which are killed in large number being hit by the trawlers and boats on the sea.
"As Santa Claus spreads happiness on Christmas with gifts, I thought to gift people some awareness on the special occasion in Santa Claus style," said Harry.
"You will find plastic bottles, items while taking bath on the sea and several fishes and turtles are being killed due to unawareness by people. I chose to create awareness among people and other fishermen through a banner on the jetski with the messages like Swim Near A Lifeguard and Save Turtle and Save Ocean," he said.
Harry is spreading awareness among tourists wearing Santa Claus clothes through Jetski asking them to take bath near a lifeguard and enjoy the sea bath safely, said a fisherman who joined Harry's campaign.
