(Watch) RPF constable saves life of passenger who fell off moving train at Odisha’s Khurda station

Bhubaneswar: Prompt intervention by a Railway Protection Force (RPF) constable saved the life of an elderly woman, who fell down while boarding a train at Khurda Road Station in Odisha today.

The elderly woman, identified as Manorama Srivastav, fell down on Platform-4 of Khurda Road Station while boarding Puri-bound Kalinga Utkal Express in the afternoon. The woman tried to board the train while it was in a moving state, sources said.

The elderly woman got trapped between the moving train and the platform.

RPF head constable Hemabati Behera, who was on duty at the station, rushed to the rescue of the elderly woman and pulled her to safe distance from the moving train, sources added.

Behera’s courage and timely intervention into the incident have received laurels from several quarters.
