(Watch) Software engineer thrashed over trivial issue in Odisha capital; incident captured on CCTV

Bhubaneswar: A software engineer was assaulted by a group of youths over a trivial issue in the Odisha capital here recently.

Victim Chittaranjan Barik had sustained injuries on his head and other parts of the body in the incident, sources said.

Barik reportedly met with a mishap in Unit-VII area of the city while returning home from office on a bike on October 21.

Barik’s bike reportedly crashed against a car that was parked along the road. Soon some youths, who were in an inebriated state, thrashed Barik for causing minor damage to the car.

The entire incident was captured by a CCTV camera installed in the locality, sources said.

On being informed, the police reached the spot and rushed Barik to Capital Hospital.

“We are probing the incident. Steps are being taken to nab the miscreants involved in the incident,” said an official of Capital police.
