Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar, the capital city of Odisha, received 258 mm rainfall today, said the IMD.

Bhubaneswar reported 258 mm rainfall from 8.30 am to 8.30 pm today. The city received 70 mm rainfall in three hours (from 5.30 am to 8.30 pm), said the IMD.

Several localities of the capital city, including Nayapalli, Bomikhal, Rasulgarh, Acharya Vihar and Forest Park area witnessed severe waterlogging due to the heavy rain, sources said.

Power supply was disrupted in several areas of Bhubaneswar due to lightning and heavy rain. The students, commuters and office-goers faced a lot of inconveniences as heavy rain lashed the city.

“The intense spell of rainfall in Bhubaneswar has stopped. The city may witness very light rain/drizzle during the next three hours,” said the IMD.
