Bargarh: While Odisha's Bargarh town is gearing up for the 11-day-long Dhanu Jatra, believed to be the largest open-air theatre show in the world, starting from December 23, the artists, including Bhubaneswar Pradhan, the person newly selected to play the role of 'King Kansa', are rehearsing their roles ahead of the mega fest.

Under the direction of Ashok Behera, the rehearsals are going on in full swing at the local Kalyan Mandap.

Worth mentioning, Pradhan was selected among 23 artistes who took part in an audition held at the District Primary Education Programme (DPEP) office here on November 28.

During the festival, the small town of Bargarh will be transformed into Mathura, the kingdom of Kansa. River Jeera will turn into the Yamuna. Similarly, Amapali, which is located on the outskirts of the town, will become the mythical land of Gopapura.
